October 4, 1942 - April 19, 2020
It is with deep grief that I announce the death of my dearly beloved husband Robert. He died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his wife Bernice and his daughters Lily and Angela.
Robert was a graduate of Maple Ridge Secondary and a Business graduate of the University of Montana. He devoted himself to the family business Mussallem Motors, to caring for his father George as he aged, to raising his daughters, and to managing a large hobby farm. He was delighted to be Grandpa to Lily's daughter Charlotte.
He cared deeply for his community and gladly supported local churches, various charities, and sports teams. He was a loyal and generous friend to many.
Robert was an avid student of local and global affairs. He was an amazing font of knowledge on history, politics, geography, astronomy, cars, airplanes, and nutrition, to name a few of his favorite subjects. He was a "walking encyclopedia" and he loved sharing his knowledge with family and friends.
His wife, daughters, and granddaughter will mourn his loss as will his sister Anne, brother David and many relatives and friends across Canada, in the United States, Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, and Latvia. His voice, his laughter, and his song will echo in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers a donation to either the British Columbia Lung Association or the Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
At a later date we will gather and have a great celebration of Robert's life.
