July 17, 2018
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our admired Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, Ronald Edgar Taylor on July 17, 2018.

Ron was pre-deceased by the love of his life, Eileen, in 2014. Ron left a legacy of family values and memories with daughter, Joyce Bedford (Cec), son Phil Taylor (Joyce), daughter Sue Mills (Bernie), 11 grandchildren: Rob (Addie), Bethany, Rachel (Chris), Jennifer (Cody), Courtney (Glenn), Donna, Russell (Rachel), Kylarae, Brad (Shawna), Ryan, Aislinn and 17 great grandchildren: Blake, Vesper, Windsor, Jasmine, Aislynn, Brenna, Billy, Kaylee, Caelyn, Taylor, Bree, Chelsea, Austin, Tyson, Emerson, Baden and Alexis.

Ron was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 and participated in the Honour Guard. He shared many memories of his time serving in the 2nd World War. Ron and Eileen immigrated to Canada from England in 1956 after completing his training as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. His career in Canada included providing health services in Haney Correctional Centre and he eventually retired as the Director of New Haven Correctional Centre in Burnaby.

Dad enjoyed a well-lived life, with family being the focus of his attention. It was important to him that his family celebrate together often, and he looked forward to any events that were planned....including regular family dinners at the Legion.

His life with Mom included many adventures with the PoCo Golden Agers Bowling League, (thanks, Karen!) cruises, camping at Harrison Hot Springs, and Rving in Arizona. He was a generous, funny, happy and caring man that made a lasting impression on all of his friends and family.

Celebration of Life service will be held on what would have been his 92nd birthday, August 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm, Garden Hill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations will gratefully be accepted at the Maple Ridge Legion Branch 88.
