June 27, 1931 - October 15, 2018
It is with a heavy heart that we say good-bye to our father, papa, great papa, senior papa, grandpa and great grandpa who passed away on Oct 15, 2018.

Ron was pre-deceased by his wife Bette in 2008 after 55 wonderful years. Ron left a legacy of family values and memories with his children, Larry (Georgia), Pat (Roger), Shirley (Shane), Richard (Shari), Debbie (Ken), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other cherished friends and relatives.

Ron lived many years with his wife and five kids in Coquitlam. Raising a family of 5 was no easy task. Whether it was sports, academics or other endeavors, besides mom, dad was our biggest supporter. Once the family home was void of kids and Ron retired in 1986 after 37 years with General Motors, Ron and Bette moved to Lake Errock where they had summered since 1961 making many lifelong friendships.

Ron became a member of the Sasquatch Lions in 1989. He served a year as Club President and many years as Club Secretary. He received the 2 highest awards a Lions Club can bestow on a member. The Melvin Jones Fellowship and Lifetime Membership.

Until last year, dad was actively on the go 5 days a week, including time spent at the Mission Lawn Bowling Club. To say dad loved cards is an understatement. If he wasn't playing a game of patience or crib with one of his kids or grandkids, he was out at the Seniors Center or Carrington House with his dear friend Marianne.

Ron was a true gentleman, a generous, happy and caring man that made a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring of 2019.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made to a charity of your choice (Cancer, diabetes, MS).

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years"
