HAWKINS; Roy Wilfrid

April 16, 1933 ~ November 21, 2016


Roy Hawkins passed away peacefully at home in Mission, BC, from pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Molly, children Jim (Rhonda), Malcolm, Joanne (Tom), and Karen, and grandchildren, Alex, Sydney, Wyatt, Frazer, Easton, Christopher, Cara and Lindsey. He was predeceased by his older sister Mary and brother John, and is survived by younger brother Rex. Roy was born in Puffer, Alberta, and grew up in the Pine Lake district of Alberta. He lived and worked in many locations of Alberta, including Red Deer, Banff, Winfield, and Nampa. He was a truck and school bus driver, farmer, federal Park Warden. In 1993 he and Molly moved to Mission, BC. Roy was known for his kind and helpful nature and being a good neighbour to all. His family was central to his life, and he loved fishing, hunting, camping, and nature. A Memorial Service will be held in All Saints Anglican Church, Mission, Monday December 12 at 1:00 pm.
