It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Townsend Meeker, aged 62, on April 29, 2025, at 12:23 p.m. He passed peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
For many years, Scott was the owner of Meeker Cedar Products and a well-respected figure in the shake and shingle industry throughout North America. Known for his generosity and strong community spirit, Scott was deeply committed to helping others and supporting local causes.
He will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his sons, his kind and giving nature, sharp sense of humour, strong will, passion for cooking, and his deep love of fly fishing. Scott also had a lifelong love of history and reading, and he was always eager to learn and share knowledge. He especially loved traveling and sharing new experiences with his sons.
Scott is lovingly remembered by his sons, Townsend (Oscar), Mitchell, Conner, and Jason (Jenn); his parents, John and Gail; his siblings, Jandi (Steve), Gina, and Todd (Karen); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Scott's memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or the Network of Rare Blood Disorder Organizations to support research and care for individuals affected by blood diseases.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their exceptional care.
