Sophie Maria Louise
Passed into the presence of her Lord on January 14, 2006 at Menno Hospital. Sophie Maria Louise Grand (nee Peters) was born November 3, 1922 in Hamburg, Germany. Predeceased by her brothers, (Johannes Peters and Heinrich Peters of Hamburg, Germany) and her loving husband Paul Grand in 1981, also from Germany. Louise and Paul Grand came to Canada in 1960. They operated the airport café in Prince Rupert and soon settled in Aldergrove, BC to operate a small hobby farm. In about 1979 they moved to Clearbrook, BC where they enjoyed their retirement until Paul was called home in 1981. “Lucy”, as she was called, was an excellent cook and a kind, dear friend. She will always be remembered by her friends and family as a tender-hearted, kind, and loyal friend.
Many thanks and appreciation go out to Beverly Bradford, Pastor at Menno Hospital and Dr. Ken Dick, and to the staff for the excellent care they gave Lucy during her years at Menno Hospital. The staff at Menno treated Lucy just as if she was their own Âmother. May God Bless each one.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 11:00 am from Hazelwood Cemetery. Donations in Lucy’s memory to the Menno Hospital would be appreciated.
