August 13, 1932 - October 2, 2021
Stan was born in Pendryl, Alberta on August 13, 1932 and passed away in Mission, BC on October 2, 2021. He passed peacefully in his sleep at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. Stan is survived and greatly missed by his wife Pat. He is survived by his children, Judy Meigs, Lewis (Marg), Ron and 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Also missing him are his sisters in Alberta, Betty( Alf) and Francis and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by all that knew him for his great sense of humour and his kind heart.

Stan served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Ontario during the Korean War. He worked in the oil fields of Ontario, sold cars in Edmonton, worked on the Banff/Jasper Highway and the WAC Bennett Dam. When he moved to Vancouver he worked as a high rise window cleaner eventually opening his own company, Chrome Building Maintenance.

Stan was an avid fisherman and loved catching and smoking or canning the salmon he caught and sharing it with friends and family. He also enjoyed gardening and playing crib at the Mission Senior's Centre. Watching Westerns on TV was also something he liked to do.

His dogs were a big part of his life. He was involved with breeding first Newfoundland dogs and then Havanese under the Hugabrew Kennel name.

Stan did not want any ceremony or memorial and we will honour his wishes. His ashes will be scattered in the Harrison River where he loved to fish in his boat "The Code of the West". Stan's family sends a huge thank you to Mission Home Health and the Christine Morrison Hospice for all their compassionate and kind care of Stan.
If you wish donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 57, Mission, BC or the Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission, BC.
