The Tatla Family is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved father, Surjit Singh Tatla. He passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2022. Surjit was born in Kaonke Kalan in the Ludhiana district of Punjab state, India on May 25, 1944.
Surjit migrated to Canada in 1970 holding a dream to raise opportunities for a better future for his family. He was a long-time resident of Mission, B.C. and earned himself a respected reputation for being humble and supportive as a family member, friend and neighbour.
As a husband, a father and grandfather he was a doting man who treasured his loved ones. He was a true Bhagat and a Silent Warrior. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and cherished him.
Surjit is survived by his wife, Charanjit, his three children, Julie (Harry) Gill, Rick (Polly) Tatla, Garry (Rupi) Tatla, and his 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 9:15 AM at Fraser River Funeral Home located at 2061 Riverside Rd. Abbotsford, BC,
V2S 6A5, followed by a prayer service and langar to be held in his honor at the Mission Gursikh Gurdwara (Temple) located at 32086 Lougheed Hwy, Mission, BC.
