BRASSARD; Therese Yvonne Marie
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Therese Brassard on June 18, 2016. Therese Yvonne Marie was born on March 4, 1925, in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, the first of seven children, to Hermas and Amanda Godin. The family lived in the farming community of Domremy, Saskatchewan, where Therese and her siblings spent their childhood. In 1941 she met the love of her life, Maurice, and in 1948 they married and set out to BC to begin their life together. They first landed in Hope, then moved to a farm in Langley, and finally settled in Abbotsford where they have resided for the past 49 years. Therese (Mom, Grandma, Grandma B, Great Grandma Motor Home, Granny) enjoyed visiting family, especially her grand and great grand children, shopping, fishing, sewing, knitting, playing cards, coupon clipping and mastered the art of reading the newspaper with her eyes closed in her big comfy chair. Therese is predeceased by her brothers Albert and Armand, her sister Alice, and her great granddaughter Lilee-Jean. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Maurice, daughter Irene (George), sons Roger (Linda), Leo (Jackie) and Rene (Wendy), grandchildren Nicole (Dan), Michelle (Phil), Magen (Jordan), Courtney (Jason), Katie, Brooke, Alex, Jake, Richard (Hillary), Alyson and Chelsey, great grandchildren Amanda, Brady, Phillip, Nicholas, Maxim, and Simon, sisters Jeanne, Lorraine, Margaret and many cousins, nieces and nephews that she thought and spoke of fondly and often. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Tuesday, June 28th, 11:00 am at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford.
