SCOTT, Thomas

(Dec. 30, 1917 - June 6, 2009)

Thomas Scott died peacefully in his sleep in Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 91. Tom was born in Kinbroon Fyvie, Scotland and came with his family to Canada in March of 1925. Tom was a rhubarb and strawberry farmer, and then moved on to logging and landscaping. He ended his years still working on his Christmas Tree Farm. He enjoyed his large vegetable garden, and won many prizes for his dahlia and flower arrangements. Tom and his wife Caroline celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2009. Tom was predeceased by his brother George and his sisters Nellie (Helen) and Peggy (Margaret). He is survived by his wife Caroline and his sister Bunty (Elizabeth). He will be sadly missed by his children Cheryl (Ordean) Hettervig, Bob (Rose) Scott, Marilyn (Art) Potter, Diane and Gerry, as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The Scott family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Alfred Chafe and the attending nurses at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 am at Henderson's Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford.
