Thomas “Tommy” Gilbert Hedges passed away at Mission Memorial Hospital on October 16, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Tommy was predeceased by his wife Ellen in 2001 and Âsister Catherine Wotherspoon. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Ruth Cookman; his children Connie Miller, Barbara Crape (Gerald), Tom Hedges Jr. (Linda), Shelley Carter (Calvin) and Penny Hedges-Moorman (Greg); by Ellen’s children, Ed (Merilyn) Britten and Lillian (Frank) Driscoll; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way as well as many extended family and friends. Tommy was a long time resident of Mission, moving here in the 1930s. He was a recent proud recipient of his 60 year Legion Service pin, a long time member of the Mission Masonic Lodge and a volunteer for the Mission Fire Department. He was also a bus driver for more than 36 years with Pacific Stage Lines and Pacific Coach Lines. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at All Saint’s Anglican Church, 33077 – 2nd Avenue, Mission on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tommy to the BC Cancer Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
