Tina BACON

April 12, 2015

Mrs. Tina Louise Bacon (née Bleasdale) died peacefully in hospital on April 12, 2015 in Mission, British Columbia at the age of 44 after a long battle with cancer.

Tina is survived by her parents, Donald and Helena Bleasdale of Burnaby, BC; husband, Matthew Bacon; children, Lauren, Katelyn, and Nathan; and sister, Tammy Reynolds of Calgary, Alberta.

Tina was born on December 5, 1970 in Vancouver, BC to Don and Helena. She graduated from Burnaby North in 1988 with a Dogwood Diploma and began working for Andrew Sheret Ltd., a plumbing and heating wholesaler, immediately thereafter. After moving to Mission, Tina began working for EMCO Plumbing Supplies, Abbotsford, as a secretary.

Tina loved serving others and followed God’s leading in her life to complete mission trips to Winfield and Osoyoos, BC; and internationally to Las Vegas, Mexico, and Jamaica.

She married Matt in 1992. Over 22 years, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home and Tina set about teaching them to be truly amazing young people. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, and patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and love others.

Tina was an accomplished baker and confectioner and often developed incredibly delicious sweet and savory treats. In 2009 Tina’s passion for food led her to start The Pink Spatula, a small business that specialized in creating compelling sweets that were “worth every bite.” She was a joyful individual who loved people and who was passionate about showing everyone she met the utmost respect and love. She was an active and dedicated member of Mountain Park Community Church and volunteered in many different ministries during her long tenure.

A memorial is scheduled for 2:30, April 19th at Mountain Park Community Church in Abbotsford with a reception to follow in the church. Senior Pastor Terry Kaethler will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tina’s life.
