GRANT, Walter Hugh
Passed away in Nanaimo Hospital, April 3rd, 2012. Predeceased by his parents, Hugh & Ivy Grant, brother Cameron, October 28, 2011. Survived by his wife Hazel, sister Marjorie, Pauline, Eileen (Bert). Daughters Diane, Bridgette (Brad), sister-in-law Della, grandchildren, great grandchildren, neices and nephews. Walter was born in Abbotsford on December 6th, 1934, where he received all his schooling. After graduating from Philip Sheffield High school in 1953 he joined a team of surveyors working on the Fraser Canyon roadway, he then worked at Pacific Mill plant, where earlier years his mother and father had also been employed. From there he enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering Course in Vancouver. Upon completion of his course he join BC Ferries retiring to his home in Lantzville several years ago. He will be remembered for his quiet manner, his subtle sense of humour, love of his family and home and garden.
