August 2, 1931 - January 6, 2022
Wally passed away peacefully on January 6, 2022, at the age of 90 in Burnaby, BC.
He was born to Ambrose and Phyllis Duperon on August 2, 1931 in Darmody Saskatchewan.
In 1943 the family moved to Mission BC, settling on a farm in Dewdney. Wally met the love of his life and he married Joy on February 10th, 1953.
Wally and Joy had 2 children, Wally (born in 1954) and Ken (born in 1955). Over the years they were blessed with their grandchildren, Jordie, Nik, and Chelsea, as well as some great-grandsons and great-granddaughters.
In 1954, Mission Auto Wrecking Ltd. was started. Wally devoted his entire life to his business and helping people. He could be found at the "shop" from sun up to sun down. You could often catch him sweeping the shop long after all the employees had left for the day. Wally was still a huge part of the company up into the most recent years.
Wally was predeceased by his parents, his wife Joy of 55 years, and his older brother Amby. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Wally (Julia) and Ken (Val), his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brother John (Margo), and the rest of his extended family.
We would like to take the time to thank all of our loyal customers over the years, Wally always loved seeing you all, as Wally always said "customers are always number 1".
