AST; Wayne Stanley. It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Ast must announce his peaceful passing into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 27, 2014 beloved brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on May 15, 1944 in Abbotsford to Jacob & Alice Ast. He attended school at Huntingdon Elementary and Abbotsford Jr. In his teenage years he enjoyed polishing and driving his 1956 Chevrolet through old downtown Abbotsford down to the Legion Cafe. He spent his working career driving gravel truck around Fairmont Hot Springs and the lower mainland for his brother Reg. He was known to have the cleanest polished trucks around. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and 4x4ing in the nearby mountains. His hobbies included playing guitar, rock polishing, and racing his Chevy in Sumas prairie with friends. He was known to his friends as easy going, laid back and up for anything. He was known by the family to joke around and play gags on his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Jake and Alice Ast. He is survived by his loving family his brothers Gerry (Marlene), Reg (Louise) and his sister Pat Kettle (Bob) and by their families: Brian (Linda) and daughter Lindsay, April (Bill) and daughter Paige, Cathy (Wayne) and sons Ryan and Jonathan, Greg (Kerry) and children Jordan, Melanie and Cameron, Brenda, Tammy (Kent) and sons Colton and Keaton, Darryl (Denice) and sons Justin, Mason and Tristen. He was laid to rest with his parents at Hazelwood Cemetery in a private family ceremony. A celebration of his life will be held in May 2014.
