Regarding district or city. I agree that district doesn’t seem to reflect us, and City of Mission has a nice ring to it. But would the title make the man?
Town of Mission is more fitting to me, as we really are more of a mature and well-established town limited in growth by surrounding agricultural land reserve that is (or should continue to be) protected. (Right?)
I am sure that being close neighbours to all that the other cities of Vancouver and Abbotsford have to offer would also appeal to a certain type of outsider or investor who prefers to live and work in a safe, friendly, and accessible community like Mission.
All they need to do is look on a map to see how close it is. If our town still turns them off because we’re not a city, then maybe they’re not a good fit?
