LETTER: Councillors need to get more proactive, change priorities

Across Canada politicians, analysts, and journalists alike are all talking about B.C.’s serious opiate and housing crises.

It was nice to read what all our city councilors are proud of and what they see as important in the coming years for Mission.

They seem to be doing a good job. However, across Canada politicians, analysts, and journalists alike are all talking about B.C.’s serious opiate and housing crises.

With neighbouring issues such as increased fentanyl deaths, the loss of affordable housing for the middle class, demolished heritage and starter homes, and run-away rents leading to the rise of homeless camps, Mission councillors need to get proactive and make preparing for these scenarios their greatest priority.
