Why all the secrecy from Mission city council regarding goings on at Fraser River Heritage Park?
Everything that council has moved forward on regarding taking over the park has been done in-camera. Why?
The Mission Heritage Association believes in transparency, openness, public accountability and full disclosure. Mission council chooses to hold their deliberations in private, away from public scrutiny. When someone does something out of the public eye, it’s often because they don’t want the public to know what they’re doing and why.
Thus, I question, “What is it about Mission council taking over the operation of Fraser River Heritage Park that they don’t want the citizens of Mission to know?” We, the members of the board of the Fraser River Heritage Park suggest full disclosure…now.
