It’s been quite some time now since the District said they were looking into having facilities set up to take used motor oils since Canadian Tire stopped providing that service.
Why hasn’t it been done?
People have been dumping their used oil into the environment, including ditches as was reported when three baby beavers were rescued all covered in oil.
Stores selling motor oils to the backyard mechanic should be obligated to take used oil, similar to stores selling bottled drinks for example.
