While Mission council deserves credit for succumbing to public pressure on the proposed Stave Lake water private public partnership (P3), it was glaringly obvious that Mission needs a locally developed water policy.
Now is the time to initiate a genuine study of Mission's water needs and capabilities involving maximum public participation.
Mayor James Atebe was adamant that council was not bullied by Abbotsford. Mission needs to take control of its water systems and resources.
