Editor, The Record:
I am taking this opportunity to offer my whole-hearted support to our mayor and council for promoting cycling in the community with the recently established bike routes and accompanying signage.
Hopefully, the signs and pavement logos will remind all road users that under the Motor Vehicle Act, bicycles are vehicles and that those who ride them have the same rights and obligations as motorists.
So, please, let us all selflessly share the road, treat each other with courtesy, and thereby enhance the safety of everyone around us.
Finally, kudos to everyone involved in the planning and implementation of this very low cost, but reasonably effective cycling infrastructure.
