The Mission Bantam A1 Stars finished first in their flight in Pacific Coast Hockey League play, which wrapped up last Sunday.

The Stars posted an impressive 15-4-1 record in Bantam A Flight 2 action, finishing ahead of many Tier 1 organizations such as Chilliwack, Ridge Meadows, South Delta and Cloverdale.

The Bantam A1 Stars are now one step closer to their ultimate goal of winning the Tier 2 provincial championships, which are being held in Mission, March 16-21.

“Every hockey player has the will to win, but for this team it was the players having the will to prepare and make sacrifices to win that made us a successful team so far," coach Chane Thomas said. "Out-working our opponents and team play has been the key to our success so far and we will need to continue as we move into the playoffs and host provincials."

The B.C. championships will draw crowds and scouts from all over western Canada and give teams a chance to make an impression before the WHL bantam draft.
