Cedar Kings destroy Indians

Mission posts 15-2 win to climb over .500 mark

The Mission Cedar Kings handed a beatdown to the North Shore Indians in Port Coquitlam on Saturday.

The Cedar Kings exploded for double digits for the first time this season, handing the Indians a 15-2 loss.

Mission jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period, then led 8-1 after two. The Cedar Kings added seven more in the final frame to cruise to the win.

Cedar Kings players Tyler Voisey and Gavan Sand each had three goals and two assists, while Owen Munro also collected a hat trick. Cody Thompson had a six-point night, with one goal and five assists, while Mitch Cavallarin contributed with a pair of goals. Brenton Graham also had a multi-point game, with one goal and three assists.

Other goal scorers for Mission included: Josh Kaiser and Steve Aldcroft. John Makowsy picked up a pair of assists, while Zach Jones, Cam Fielding and Joel Dahlgren all recorded one assist.

Jeff Lissimore picked up the win for Mission, and the game featured the return of Rod Sailes and the West Central Senior Lacrosse League Association debut of defender Antonio Lupinacci.

Mission improves to three wins, two losses and one overtime loss in WCSLLA regular season play, and now have a goal differential of 15 (39 goals for, 24 goals against).

The Cedar Kings and the rest of the WCSLLA are off for the Victoria Day long weekend, but will return to action the following weekend. Full details for the team’s next game have not yet been released.
