Champions crowned in disc golf doubles provincials

Fraser Valley Disc Golf Club hosts big disc golf event

A competitor tees off at the 2017 BC Doubles Championships hosted by the Fraser Valley Disc Golf Club earlier this month.

The discs were flying all day at Mission’s 18 Pastures Golf Course on Sunday, as 84 participants battled it out at the 2017 BC Doubles Championships hosted by the Fraser Valley Disc Golf Club.

The one-day 40-hole tournament saw golfers hit the course at 9 a.m., with $5,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.

The third annual event brings together the best doubles players in open, masters, women, advanced and intermediate divisions.

Mission’s Stewart McIsack and Brad Henderson were the top local finishers at the event, placing third in the open and masters divisions respectively.

2) Kristy Lee and Tara Lynch (139)

3) Leanne Fulton and Oie Petruchuk (140)

Advanced: 1) Chance Stad and Taavi Plaan (121)

2) Brett Hislop and Erik Wendlend (122)

3) Tony Pacheco and Ben Dixon (125)

Intermediate: 1) Randy Ivie and Jared Jons (131)

2) TJ Kres and Tyler Eberhardt (141)

3) Adam Knight and Will Chrom (142)
