Chilliwack’s Jordyn Huitema scored three goals Wednesday (Dec. 8), leading her European pro team to victory in UEFA Women’s Champions League play.

Huitema and Paris St-Germain (PSG) played Ukranian club Kharkiv.

She got the scoring started at the 14:30 mark. Midfielder Sandy Baltimore set her up with a cross from the left side of the 18-yard box, and Huitema headed the ball inside the far goal post.

Huitema was the playmaker on the second PSG goal, scored at 20:15.

Off a turnover, defender Ashley Lawrence sprang Huitema and Ramona Bachmann on a two-on-none break. Coming in on the right side of the goal box, Huitema fed the ball over to Bachmann for the tap-in.

From there PSG cruised to a 6-0 win, keeping their Champions League record spotless at 5-0 while securing a quarter-final spot in the tournament.

Huitema is now up to four goals in Champions League play, having torched Kharkiv for three in their first meeting back on Oct. 13.

One group-stage game remains for PSG as they face Breidablik (Iceland) next Thursday (Dec. 16). Their first meeting in early October was a 2-0 win for Paris St-Germain.

The two-leg quarter-final will take place Mar. 22-23 and 30-31, 2022 followed by the two-leg semi-final Apr. 23-24 and April 30/May 1.
