The Spirit Abreast Dragon Boat team is once again putting the call out for new paddlers.

Paddling season is about to begin, and the team is holding their annual meet and greet. The team includes breast cancer survivors, cancer survivors and supporters, all paddling together. While the team practices on Cultus Lake, there are residents from all over the Fraser Valley on the roster.

Their goal is to give survivors a renewed sense of self-esteem and focus beyond survival, to show that it is possible to have a fun and challenging life after diagnosis and treatment, to raise awareness around breast cancer, to improve quality of life for those with the disease, and to help find a future free of breast cancer.

Their meet and greet will be held on Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at 8533 Broadway St. (off Aiport) in the Beacon Downs Clubhouse.
