The juvenile women's curling match between Erin Huitema's Thompson-Okanagan rink and Heather Drexel's Fraser Valley foursome came down the final end, with Huitema pulling out a 6-5 win.Huitema, a Lumby native, expected a tough fight and got it. Her team put up four in the first end and led 6-3 through five. But Drexel's scrappy crew clawed back with singles in the sixth and seventh ends. In the final analysis, it was Huitema's third, Winter Harvey, stepping up with the big shot.“It was stressful because they started getting rocks in, the house was looking really cluttered and we started getting a little worried,” Huitema said. “Then Winter (Harvey) hit a double takeout that really started clearing things out, and everything clicked. They missed their draw and it was over.”Huitema was happy with her team's performance. The only problem might have been the jitters, and if that's the case they should be in better shape tonight when they take on Alyssa Connell's Cariboo – North East rink.
