Bailey Tinkler outlasted Erin Huitema of the Vernon Curling Club 6-5 to win the bronze medal for the Vancouver Island-Central Coast (Zone 6) team.
Tinkler and teammates Sydney Brilz and Julia Kresse of Victoria and Courtenay’s Jordan Koster, won a see-saw battle Sunday morning at the BC Winter Games, breaking a 4-4 tie with two in the seventh then limiting Huitema to one in the eighth.
Both Tinker and Huitema were unbeaten in the round robin portion of the competition, but lost in Saturday night’s semifinal round.
