Heritage Park girls wrestling team places third in zone competition

Mission wrestlers from all three high schools battled last weekend at WJ Mouat

Marcel Tellier of Mission has control of Tanner Ayotte of Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in this 60 kg boys match at the UFV wrestling championships at W.J. Mouat in Abbotsford on Saturday. Ayotte went on to defeat Tellier in this match.

Mission wrestlers placed well at the High School Wrestling Zone competition held at WJ Mouat last Saturday, with the girls team from Heritage Park coming third overall, and Hatzic earning sixth place.

Heritage’s Cyprys Wales fought her way to first place in the 57 kg division, with Hatzic’s Taylor Ballantyne coming third.

Alex Sawyer won first place in 69 kg for Hatzic.

The boys teams failed to place, but individually, Hatzic’s Dawson Nelson came fifth in the 51 kg division, while Heritage’s Bruce Martin was last in the 54 kg category at sixth place. Mission secondary’s Chris Low earned fourth at 90 kg.
