Organizers are busy preparing for next month’s Heritage to Hatzic 5 and 10K Classic.

The annual event is Mission’s very own version of a “Sun Run.” The goal is to raise at least $2,500 for the Mission Hospice Society.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, April 9 at 9 a.m.

The race starts and finishes at Fraser River Heritage Park near the band shelter. (Note: This is a new start and finish location this year).

The course will run through scenic Heritage Park on the trails before running along quiet roads in Hatzic.

The final two kilometres will have participants running past the St Mary’s school, back through the park to the finish line.

After the race, there will be refreshments and food for all finishers. The awards ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. This year’s event features plenty of draw prizes, including a grand draw prize.
