As the first half of the Karate BC Games wraps up for the day, kata competitors wait patiently for semi-final announcements.

Karate BC Games judge and sensei of Abbotsford Karate Club Ted Gosling explains what he looks for in the athletes’ kata presentation.

“I look for a strong, complete balanced kata, without wobbles, proper tension, and completion,” he says. “The talent here today is high class. We have some very strong competitors.”

Kata competitors will be looking forward to moving on to the finals tomorrow pending the judges announcements this afternoon.
