Mission athletes earn medals at annual Twisters Invitational

More than150 athletes competed from all over B.C. and Saskatchewan.

Mission athletes excelled at the annual Twisters Invitational Meet, which occurred in Abbotsford on March 25 and 26.

Over 150 athletes competed from all over the province, as well as a team from Saskatchewan.

Mission’s Steven Chaplin took home gold medals in the senior men’s vault and parallel bars and silver medals on the high bar and pommel horse.

Kristofer Unipan from Mission also earned a bronze on vault, as well as a ninth place finish on  the pommel horse and 10th all-around in the National Open division.

The Twisters Gymnastics invitational, which ran from March 17 to 19 also featured female gymnastics talent from Mission.

Those earning medals included: Cara Brodowich (silver on floor, JO 4 division), Marissa Engh (bronze on bars and beam, JO 9 division) and Abigail Greencorn (bronze all-around, JO 1/2 division).
