The Mission City Outlaws dropped a 6-0 contest to the Grandview Steelers on Oct. 12 before another loss to the Port Moody Panthers 4-1 on Oct. 13.

The Mission City Outlaws dropped back-to-back inter-conference matchups last weekend to the Grandview Steelers and Port Moody Panthers.

The Steelers blanked the Outlaws 6-0 at Mission Leisure Centre on Saturday (Oct. 12) and the Panthers picked up a 4-1 win over Mission at Port Moody Arena the following day (Oct. 13).

"My attitude has always been, if you fall flat on your face, at least you're moving forward. All you have to do is get back up and try again," Outlaws forward Maxwell Wingrove said.

Grandview outshot Mission 39-22 in Saturday's contest and found the back of the net three times in the first period to grab a commanding lead.

After a scoreless second period, the Steelers' offence exploded again in the third to leave Mission with a 6-0 win.

Steven Konechny was named first star after a four-point performance that included a pair of goals and assists, while Ronin Geraghty secured the shutout with 22 saves.

Meanwhile, special teams made the difference for Port Moody on Sunday.

Sahib Basra opened the scoring on the power play for the Panthers before Colin Jang extended the lead to 2-0 with a shorthanded goal. In the second period, Ty Balchen scored even strength before Evan Fedele added another shorthanded goal to put Port Moody ahead 4-0.

Cooper Crowe added a goal for Mission in the third to make it a 4-1 final.

The loss drops the Outlaws to 3-7-2 on the season, which puts them in fifth place in the Harold Brittain Conference.

Up next for Mission is another meeting with Abbotsford on Friday (Oct. 18) at MSA Arena before returning to Mission Leisure Centre to host Chilliwack on Saturday (Oct. 19) at 6:45 p.m.
