The Mission City Outlaws bounced back from an overtime loss to Coastal Tsunami on Saturday with an overtime win over North Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Mission City Outlaws split two tightly-contested overtime games at the Leisure Centre over the past week.

Mission lost 4-3 to the Coastal Tsunami on Saturday (Dec. 7) and defeated the North Vancouver Wolf Pack 5-4 on Tuesday (Dec. 10).

Against the Tsunami, the Outlaws came back from three goals down in the third period to force overtime but it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Coastal forward Oliver Nottingham scored twice and added an assist to earn the first star in the contest. His first goal of the game capped off a dominant first period for the Tsunami in which they snagged a 3-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Kael Kozicki got Mission on the board midway through the third. Then, Max Wingrove scored for the Outlaws with just 30 seconds remaining to cut the lead in half and Cade Peden evened the score with roughly 15 seconds remaining.

However, Nottingham scored again in overtime for Coastal to avoid a collapse.

The roles were reversed on Tuesday, with the Outlaws winning in overtime despite a late comeback from North Vancouver.

The Outlaws seized the advantage midway through the first period with a goal from Ben Leslie. Lachlan Freer beat the buzzer for Mission with another goal to head into the locker room with a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Cohan Kuncio netted another in the second to provide Mission with a three-goal lead, but the Wolf Pack bit back to close the period. Lucas Davidson scored on the power play and Metteo Pero scored a buzzer-beater of his own to cut the lead to 3-2 heading into the final frame.

Kuncio tallied his second of the game early in the third, but Davidson scored twice more to complete a hat trick for North Vancouver and tie the game with three seconds left in regulation.

In overtime, the Outlaws capitalized on the lone shot of the period in the second minute with a game-winner from Leslie. Carter Greenway made 34 saves to earn the win between the pipes for Mission.

The win improves the Outlaws' record to 9-18-3 on the season and maintains their standing in fifth in the Harold Brittain Conference.

Mission plays the Richmond Sockeyes on Thursday (Dec.12) at Minoru Atrna before a meeting with the following Thursday (Dec. 19).
