The Mission Elite U-15 boys basketball team went undefeated to win their division at the Spring Showcase tournament hosted throughout the Vancouver region on the weekend (May 12-14).

In the championship game on Sunday (May 14) in Port Coquitlam, Mission held on to defeat the Surrey Northstars 59-50.

Starters Manjot Bhatti, Brady Witmer, Jaxen Hemier, Shiven Kapoor and Noah Fraser weathered a late run from Surrey and closed out the game.

The whole roster contributed to a 3-0 finish in group play with a positive point differential of 125. They defeated BC Bounce White 76-44 earlier on Sunday, picked up a 93-20 win over BB4ALL on Saturday and won 67-47 over BC Hoops U15B on Friday.

“There’s something really special about this team. They continue to show tremendous heart and work ethic,” head coach Anil Sharma said. “It’s going to be fun to watch them build chemistry and reach their full potential. I think they can compete at a very high level over the upcoming years.”

The team will participate in BC Basketball Events’ Spring Shootout from May 26-28.
