The U13 A1 Mission Minor Hockey team won gold during an eight-team Tier 2 tournament in Kelowna on the weekend.

The squad, comprised of players age 11-13, went undefeated, beating all challengers.

The Mission squad knocked off teams from Kelowna, Penticton, Langley, Vancouver and Maple Ridge.

The local squad is hoping to go to provincials this year.

Mission is a Tier 3 association, due to the size of the community, so outplaying and outscoring squads from bigger associations is even more of a thrill for the players.
