Burnaby with its United club, is the hotbed of netball in B.C., and the two teams stocked with Burnaby players, the Zone 4A and Zone 4B teams from the Fraser River-Delta area, met in the BC Games on Friday afternoon.

It was no surprise that the 4A team, whose coaching staff got first choice of players from the zone, was able to win the contest 27-13. The 4B team was selected from remaining players, only assembled after a the North West Zone team pulled out of the Games.

In other afternoon action, the Fraser Valley (Zone 3) girls beat Thompson-Okanagan (Zone 2) by a score of 35-16.

Correcting a score from earlier in the day, Vancouver-Squamish (Zone 5) beat Thompson-Okanagan (Zone 2) by a score of 19-15 to open the tournament.
