An Olympic medalist will lead a swim clinic at the Dan Sharrers Aquatic Centre in Hope this weekend.

Emily Overholt will be teaching pool skills, leading drills and offering tips to enhance mental resilience for competitive swimmers. The clinic will include classroom and pool instruction, and is being presented by Head to Head and hosted by Hope’s RiverMonsters Swim Club.

Overholt is a bronze medalist from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games and a silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games, among other achievements.

She studied at the University of British Columbia, and is known for her poise and mental strength while competing.

Head to Head promotes mental resiliency and physical wellness among Canadians through Olympian-led mentorship programs that teach healthy habits and inspire confidence. Overholt learned a lot from her amazing swim career and will share her extensive knowledge of the sport with the next generation of Canadian swimmers.

The clinic is open to competitive swimmers ages nine to 17, and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $168.97 and registration is available through their Eventbrite page, or by emailing mmccabe@headtohead.ca.
