The Mission City Outlaws defeated the Aldergrove Kodiaks 6-1 at the Leisure Centre on Saturday (Nov. 9).

A pair of goals from Ashton Holbech powered the Mission City Outlaws to a 6-1 victory over the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Saturday (Nov. 9).

The Kodiaks got on the board first at Mission Leisure Centre with a power play goal from Taylor Mackie.

However, Holbech struck back with a shorthanded answer to tie the game 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.

Colton Collard and Samuel Gerbrand gave the Outlaws the lead with goals in the second period while outshooting Aldergrove 15-5 in that frame.

Mission capped off an impressive performance with goals from Sam Takahashi, Max Wingrove and another from Holbech in the third period.

Jake Poblete stopped to 27 shots to earn the win for the Outlaws. Holbech was named first star while Rylan Elson’s two assists gave him second and Wingrove's goal and assist left him with third.

The victory allowed Mission to bounce back from a 7-2 loss to the Ridge Meadows Flames on Friday night (Nov. 8).

Holbech and Cooper Crowe each found the back of the net for the Outlaws during the visit to Cam Neely Planet Ice Arena. However, Mission couldn’t weather the 46-shot onslaught from the Flames that led to the seven goals.

The Outlaws also played host to the North Vancouver Wolf Pack on Tuesday (Nov. 12) but couldn't solve netminder Remy Quintoro in a 5-0 loss.

Mission went down by two goals in the opening five minutes and was unable to mount a comeback despite 39 shots on goal.

The Outlaws currently sit fifth in the Harold Brittain Conference standings with a 6-14-2 record and 14 points. They find themselves eight points behind fourth-place Langley and two points ahead of sixth-place Surrey.

Up next for Mission is a matchup with the Coastal Tsunami on the road Friday night (Nov. 15) before returning to the Leisure Centre on Saturday (Nov. 16) at 6:45 p.m. to face Surrey.
