The Mission Roadrunners senior varsity football team has been eliminated from the postseason.

Mission matched up against the South Delta Secondary Sun Devils in round one of the B.C high school football playoffs in Burnaby on Nov. 10, but were blasted 37-0.

The Sun Devils picked up three passing and two rushing touchdowns, and the defence swarmed the Roadrunners offence, forcing three fumbles and grabbing two interceptions.

South Delta led 30-0 at half-time to cruise to the win.

The loss ends what was a solid year for the Roadrunners, who reached the postseason again after failing to qualify last season. Mission finished with a regular season record of two wins and five losses, including a win in Abbotsford against the W.J. Mouat Hawks and a win at home against Centennial.

The Roadrunners junior varsity team, who finished with a record of two wins and two losses, saw their season end on Nov. 2 with a 18-0 loss to the St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights.
