Roadrunners playing in all-star basketball game Saturday at UBC

Luc Comeau, Luke Morris and coach Danny Jakobs in Vancouver for all-star game

Some of Mission’s top high school basketball talent will be competing in all-star games this weekend, led by Mission secondary Roadrunners’ coach Danny Jakobs.

The senior boys play at 3 p.m. April 21 at UBC, with Luke Morris, who earned provincial tournament most valuable player on the Roadrunners’ run to top spot in B.C. in AA earlier this year. The 6’5” forward was a powerhouse for the local team, and announced in late March that he had signed with the UFV Cascades for next season.

Teammate Luc Comeau will be playing on the opposite all-star team, coached by Terry Fox’s bench boss Steve Hanson. Comeau’s spectacular efforts in the AA provincials netted him best defensive player of the competition.
