After a tough loss in the first game, Fraser Valley bounced back to get into the win column with a 57-13 win in Special Olympics Basketball.

They were playing another Fraser Valley squad, a replacement team, on Friday afternoon at UFV’s Envision Athletic Centre on the first day of the B.C. Winter Games.

“It was pretty great,” said South Surrey’s Scott Laroue, who led the team with 16 points.

“We tried our hardest, we did our best and we worked as a team.”

He added that it was exciting taking part in his first B.C. Winter Games experience.

Fraser Valley got a balanced attack as nine players scored points.
