Twisters secure 31 medals at Ogopogo Invitational

A quartet of Mission athletes earned a number of medals

Last weekend, 10 Twisters athletes, four from Mission, competed at the Ogopogo Invitational in Kelowna and hauled in 31 medals between them: nine for the six girls and 22 for the four boys.

Girls compete in four disciplines and get a fifth all-around score. Boys compete in six disciplines and get a seventh all-around score.

Argo, tyro, and novice for the girls define age-groups: eight and nine year olds compete in argo; tyro showcases 10-11 year olds; novice includes 12-13 year old athletes.

 

The Mission results are as follows.

• Lexi Gaspar (provincial level two novice): gold on vault and bars; silver all-around.

• Brienna Gaspar (provincial level three argo): silver on beam and floor; fourth all-around.

• Jeremy Gaspar (provincial level three, over 13): gold on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, all-around; silver on high bar

• Kristofer Unipan (provincial level three, under 13): gold on parallel bars and all-around; silver on vault, pommel horse, rings; bronze on floor.
