The UFV Cascades are the top-ranked team in the 2025 Canadian College World Series tournament.

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades have a chance to make history repeat itself at this year's Canadian College World Series as the team looks to secure yet another title.

Eight teams are currently in Lethbridge, Alta., battling it out to see who will be crowned this year's Canadian College Baseball Conference champion.

UFV entered the World Series as the top-ranked team thanks to their impressive 21-11 regular season record, which sets them up with a good opportunity to win their first consecutive championships.

If the team is able to find success, they'll earn their third World Series title since joining the CCBC in 2017. Their previous two wins occurred in 2019 and 2024, with UFV beating the Okanagan College Coyotes for the championship title both times.

It seems like history may be looking to repeat itself once again at this year's tournament, with the Coyotes being ranked number two just behind UFV.

But first, the Cascades will have to prove themselves by beating the other World Series contenders. Teams from all across Western Canada are participating, with UFV's first challenger being the University of Calgary Dinos.

The opening games take place on Thursday, May 15, with knockout rounds being held throughout the weekend, and the champions being crowned on Sunday.
