Mission’s 19-year-old hockey star, Gage Goncalves, has been drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Goncalves was picked in the second round, No. 62 overall on Wednesday’s NHL Draft (Oct. 7).

As a centre, he has improved drastically over the past two seasons, racking up 33 goals, 38 assists in 60 games this year with the Everett Silvertips – compared to just a single goal in his rookie season.

Goncalves was added last minute to the roster of Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Check Development Camp in July, 2020.
