Abbotsford hangar doubles as posh event venue

Airside Event Spaces opened in Feb. 2018, has hosted several weddings and events

Have you ever wanted to host a big event at Abbotsford International Airport?

That dream can now be a reality thanks to Airside Event Spaces.

Kayla and Tylor English launched the unique concept in February 2018, and while it still functions as an actual aircraft hangar, it is also a fully equipped event space. It contains a full commercial kitchen, a second level boardroom, a hair and makeup room and a permanent infinity photo wall for photo and video content to be displayed. Airside even provides two planes for unique backdrops for your event photos.

Airside has hosted weddings, corporate events and private events in its nearly two-year existence.

According to the Airside website, the couple realized after attending several local weddings and planning their own that there was a shortage of event spaces in the Fraser Valley. Kayla and Tylor left their own previous careers to launch this one of a kind project.

The duo abide by the SOAR value system, which stands for solutions, organization, aesthetics and relationships.
