Is that a Sasquatch moving amid the trees?

“Stump Artist” Jesse Toso released a time-lapse video of his latest carving for Sasquatch Mountain Resort: a life-sized rendering of the famous big-footed biped.

The video shows Toso using a chainsaw to carve a log into the figure of a Sasquatch over several days, using small and more precise power tools to capture the expression on its face.

The sculpture will be heading to Sasquatch Mountain Resort for the upcoming season, and where it will be displayed at the base of the mountain.

The Sasquatch isn’t the only new addition to the resort: a new chair lift has been in the process of being installed over the summer, and will be ready to take people up the mountain this winter.

Currently, the resort is undergoing a five-phase expansion plan that will see an increase in the resort’s year-round activities and Indigenous heritage components.

Phase one of the expansion has an estimated capital investment of $500 million, which will see the number of ski lifts increase from four to seven and the number of ski trails increase to 77. It will also see new trails for snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking.
