Magnuson Ford is on its way to Mission.

A new Ford dealership is slated to be completed in Mission by 2025 at 32040 Lougheed Highway.

“Mission’s been on our radar for a long time,” dealership president Layne Magnuson said.

Magnuson, a Maple Ridge resident, has been driving past the new Mission dealership’s property for a long time while commuting to the Abbotsford location.

“When it became available, we started talking … because I can just picture the Ford oval off the highway as you’re coming into town — it just fits nice. It’s around some big box stores, there’s lots of development in and around that area, and the growth of Mission seems to be happening right there,” Magnuson says.

Ford Canada also identified Mission as one of the fastest-growing communities in BC.

“There’s a lot of Fords in that market,” Magnuson said.

He says the new dealership will be a state-of-the-art building. Ford Canada architects have been working on the project with Keystone Architecture in Abbotsford.

“I’m looking forward to being part of [the Mission] community,” Magnuson said.

The Magnuson Ford development application came before council for first and second readings at the Dec. 15 meeting and was carried unanimously.

“The City of Mission has been amazing — they’ve been fast-tracking us at all points,” he said.
