Mission residents have another way to order delivery.

According to a news release, Uber Eats will be available in Mission starting Wednesday (Nov. 15). Uber announced the expansion of its delivery service to 10 new locations throughout B.C., including Vernon, Whistler, Courtenay, Campbell River, Penticton, Duncan, Cranbrook, Fort St. John and Squamish.

“As cities and towns across Canada grapple with challenging macroeconomic trends, Uber Eats offers local restaurants a new way to connect with hungry customers and local delivery people to make delivery fast and easy,” the news release reads.

Uber says the service will be available in over 275 cities across Canada by the end of the year. For a limited time, Uber will offer $0 Delivery Fees in new cities, including Mission.

Uber expanded its ride-hailing coverage to include Mission, Kent and north of Chilliwack on Sept. 25.

Mission’s council approved bylaws back in May to allow ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft to operate in the city as early as June 1.

By approving the bylaws, Mission joined 25 others already participating in an Inter-Municipal Business Licence (IMBL) agreement for ride-hailing companies in the Lower Mainland.
