A charity ride for hospice

In addition to the Elvis Memorial Ride, the Mission Hospice Society begins its first motorcycle fundraiser ride Saturday, Aug. 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The idea began when Cascade Motorsports donated a scooter for raffle and Dee’s Pink Steel planned the route and donated two helmets.

Doug McNeill from the Dewdney Pub jumped on board to offer his pub for a coffee break and the barbecue at the end.

Riders will meet at the Dewdney Pub for sign-in from 8:30 to 10 a.m. with coffee and donuts and a free bandana. The group will swing through Mission’s hills and lakes before heading out for a loop around Harrison, and then back to the pub for a BBQ and music.

Entry fees are: bike and rider, $20 (including lunch); passenger, $15 (including lunch); lunch only, $10.

Contact Jane Cooper at 604-826-2235 for pre-registration.
